Senior Special Assistant on Oil and Gas to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Hon. Benson Enikuomehin, has resigned.
Aside resigning from the Akeredolu administration, he also defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Enikuomehin, a grassroots politicians from Ondo South Senatorial District and former representative of the state in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is one of the people who worked for the emergence of Akeredolu as governor.
A lawyer, Akeredolu, in his resignation letter to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), said: “I write to resign my appointment forthwith as the Senior Special Assistant to Mr. Governor on Oil and Gas.
“I am indeed grateful to the Governor for the opportunity to serve”.
PDP members in the Sunshine State are already celebrating Enikuomehin’s defection.
A member of the party described him as “a big catch”.
He has been nominated as the Ondo State Agent of the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, in the February 16, 2019 election.
