Nigeria’s world junior lightweight title hopeful, Olusegun Ajose, would have have to wait again after series of postponements to have his dream actualised.
The bout between Ajose Olusegun and Filipino fighter, Mercito ‘No Mercy’ Gesta which was scheduled for June 19, was at the weekend cancelled.
The Nigerian boxer may have to wait for more than four months as Filipino fighter Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta’s return to the ring as the injury sustained by Mercito may put him out of action for at least four months and he would need some time to fully regain fitness.
The hairline fracture was located along Gesta’s ribs. The boxer will be out of action for four to six months due to the injury.
The bout against Olusegun would have been Gesta’s first since losing his first professional match last December 2012 when he dropped a decision to Miguel Vazquez.
