From Bode Durojaiye, Oyo.

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has expressed sympathy with residents of Oyo metropolis over the recent rainstorm that destroyed many commercial and residential buildings.
Ajimobi, at a meeting held on Wednesday with the 33 Local Governments’ caretaker chairmen, including the four
councils affected by the rainstorm, sympathised with the victims and prayed for the people over the unfortunate incident.
He said the state government expressed great concern over the unfortunate situation, and assured the people that in due course, the government would do something for the people with a view to alleviating their sufferings.
The governor warned the people to be disaster conscious at all times, particularly now that we are approaching the raining season.
Ajimobi is expected to embark on extensive tour of the four
local governments in Oyo metropolis anytime from now, where various projects are expected to be commissioned.
Caretaker chairman, Oyo-West Local Government, Soji Ojoawo, on behalf of his colleagues, thanked the governor for his concern and promised that the people would continue to demonstrate their unflinching support to the Ajimobi administration at all times.
