Ahmed asks IBEDC to improve electricity supply

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has charged the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to improve on its electricity supply to the public to justify its revenue collection.
Ahmed gave the charge on Wednesday when he received the management team of the company led by its Chairman, Dr Olatunde Ayeni, at the Government House, Ilorin.
According to him, it is imperative for IBEDC to balance demand with supply in value addition to the end-users of electricity.
He emphasised the need for the company to embark on advocacy on collection process, and availability of electricity supply, to keep the public abreast of information at all times.
Ahmed promised to deploy necessary facilities to improve access to electricity in the state.
He gave assurance that his government would strengthen existing relationship with the company in order to improve electricity supply and stimulate the local economy as well as enhance public welfare.
Ayeni urged the public to pay bills regularly to enable the company to supply more electricity to them.
Ayeni said the company would soon distribute 250,000 pre-payment meters to its customers in Kwara, Oyo, Osun and Ogun states.
