Former presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC), Dr. Olapade Agoro, has given Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State 36 hours ultimatum to drop the ‘state of osun’ coinage and remove the logo from all public institutions in the South-West state.
Failure to do so, the NAC National Chairman threatened to sue him.
Agoro, the Owatapa of Itapa Ijesha, Osun State, made his position known through a letter he wrote to the governor.
Entitled “Demand Notice served on Mr Rauf Aregbesola, Governor of Osun State, Nigeria”, Agoro frowned at the usage of the code name: “State of Osun”, while also
advising him to stop parading himself as Governor of State of Osun.
He also told the governor to explain to people of the state why an aircraft should be allocated to his office for his use.
The letter reads: “Demand Notice served on Mr Rauf Aregbesola, Governor of Osun state Nigeria; Stop parading yourself as Governor state of Osun. Disband immediately all Osun state Government Apparatus you have illegally, unlawfully, treasonably code named: “State of Osun”, asking why “within the next 36 hours of receipt of this letter why your alleged activities must not be reported to the law enforcement agencies at National and International levels, failing which I shall without further notice proceed into seeking redress action against you, your cohorts jointly and severally”.
