Africa’s first Professor of Geology is dead

We lost a Rare Gem!

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Mosobalaje Jamiu Olaloye Oyawoye, the first Professor of Geology in Africa. His contributions to the field of geology were immense and his legacy will live on for many years to come.

Professor Oyawoye was a pioneer in his field, paving the way for future generations of geologists to follow in his footsteps. His research and discoveries have helped to shape our understanding of the earth and its processes, and his dedication to teaching and mentoring has inspired countless students and professional in the field over the years.

As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the life and accomplishments of Professor Oyawoye. His legacy will continue to inspire us all to reach for the stars and to never stop pursuing our passions, no matter the obstacles we may face.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Professor Oyawoye, please accept our deepest condolences during this difficult time.

May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him, and may Allah overlook his shortcomings, illuminate his grave, grant him the best abode in paradise
