The Glo-sponsored African Voices broadcast on CNN International will this weekend highlight the trajectories and achievements of three African athletes breaking limits and aiming for high goals, on and off the field.
The programme will feature the trio of  Kenyan award-winning paralympic runner, Samuel Mushai; captain of the Kenyan national team, who plays as a defensive midfielder for Premier League  Club Tottenham Hotspur, Victor Mugubi Wanyama;  and a professional footballer who plays for Leicester City FC, Yohan Ben Alouane.
Samuel Mushai, a visually challenged athlete is a living testament to the indomitability of the human spirit as he had proved with his sterling performances that disability is not inability. He won the 2017 Safaricom Sports Personality of the Year (SOYA), Male Sports Personality of the Year with Disability Award for winning gold medals in 5,000m and 1,500m at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016.
Wanyama, on the other hand became the first ever Kenyan player to score in the UEFA Champions League when he scored the first goal in Celtic’s 2–1 win over Barcelona on 7 November 2012. On 11 July 2013, Wanyama moved to Premier League club, Southampton for £12.5 million making him the most expensive player sold by a Scottish club as at then. He was later signed on by Tottenham Hotspur in June, 2016.

The third athlete, Ben Alouane was born and raised in France. He represented France as a youth before switching to represent Tunisia at the senior international level. He recently fulfilled his childhood dream by appearing for Tunisia at the just concluded  2018 World Cup finals in Russia.
All the three athletes will talk about the various lessons life had taught them and how they have been mentoring African youths as role models.
The 30-minute programme, which comes up on CNN at 9.30 a.m. on Friday, is also repeated at 3.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Saturday and at 11.30 a.m and 6.30 p.m. on Sunday. The show will also be aired at 10.30 a.m. on Monday and at 4.30 a.m. on Tuesday.
