AFCON qualifier: Libyans train, plot to walk over Nigeria

Despite the 20-hour ordeal faced by the Super Eagles at the Al-Abraq airport which led to Nigeria pulling out of the match, the Libyan national team had a full training session on Monday night.

The match is originally scheduled to take place Tuesday night (8pm today).

Super Eagles and officials arrived back in Nigeria on Monday night and were received by minister of Sports John Enoh in Abuja.

The Confederation of Africa Football is yet to make a clear pronouncement on the AFCON qualifier but the antics of the Libyans suggest that there could be a walk-over process against Nigeria later today.

“We made it clear that we cannot play with the threat to life situation we faced in Libya and for their team to still go ahead and train means they have a plan. Our fingers are crossed as we await CAF on this,” an NFF official told our correspondent.
