Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun has expressed his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for approving the rehabilitation of critical federal roads in the state. The approval was confirmed through the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke highlighted the significance of the approval, which includes the rehabilitation of two major roads: the Osogbo-Gbongan Road and the Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road. The governor emphasized that these road improvements would bring considerable relief to the people of Osun and stimulate economic development within the state.
Adeleke recalled his working visit to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, on October 18, 2024, when he had presented the poor condition of these roads and urged for urgent federal intervention. He applauded President Tinubu and Minister Umahi for their swift response to the state’s infrastructure needs.
“The rehabilitation of these roads will no doubt enhance economic growth, improve connectivity, and ease transportation for our people,” Adeleke stated.
The governor further expressed that the approval of the projects reinforced his earlier endorsement of President Tinubu as his preferred candidate for the 2027 general elections. Adeleke assured the Federal Government of the state’s full support for the successful execution of the road rehabilitation projects.
“Mr. President has validated our endorsement of him as our preferred candidate for the 2027 race. Osun truly appreciates this gesture. We look forward to an even more robust partnership with the Presidency and the Federal Government,” he said.
