The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled a timetable for its nationwide party congresses as part of preparations for the upcoming national convention.

The schedule was announced on Sunday in Abuja through a statement jointly issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, and National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.

According to the statement, the internal electoral process will begin with polling unit and ward congresses on April 7, 2026.

This will be followed by local government area congresses scheduled for April 9, while state congresses across the country will take place on April 11.

The process will conclude with the party’s National Convention slated for April 14, where key leadership positions are expected to be decided.

Party officials said the congresses form part of the ADC’s constitutional requirement to periodically renew its leadership structures at all levels of the organisation.

Members interested in contesting for available positions have been advised to obtain and submit nomination or expression of interest forms through the party’s official website.

The leadership also urged members nationwide to actively participate in the congresses and adhere strictly to the party’s constitution and guidelines throughout the process.

The party emphasised that the congresses and convention are aimed at strengthening internal democracy and preparing the ADC for upcoming political activities across Nigeria.
