The Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB) has re-elected for a second term, the Head, Corporate Communications of Polaris Bank, Rasheed Bolarinwa, as its president.
The election took place during its 2022/2023 Annual General Meeting/ 2024/2025 Elections, which was held at the association’s secretariat on Wednesday in Lagos.
Seven other executive members were also elected alongside Bolarinwa to run the affairs of the association for the next two years.
Mr Oze Oze of First Bank emerged as First Vice-President; Mrs Tolulope Onipede of Guaranty Trust Bank as Second Vice-President; Mr Babajide Sipe of Ecobank, General Secretary; and Mr Ikechukwu Iheagwam of Access Bank as Assistant General Secretary.
Others are Hajia Halima Ya’u Ishaq of Jaiz Bank, Financial Secretary; Mrs Morolake Philip-Ladipo of Wema Bank, Treasurer; Mr Omede Odekina of United Bank for Africa, Publicity Secretary and Mrs Ozena Utulu of Heritage Bank, Social Secretary.
Four members of the association would serve as Ex-Officio (Non-Elective position).
They are Acting-Director, Corporate Commission, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Bashir Nuhu; Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) Director of Communication and Public Affairs, Folake Akintayo; Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) Head, Corporate Communications and Lola Egboh, past executive member of ACAMB.
In his acceptance speech, Bolarinwa expressed gratitude for being re-elected for the second term, pledging commitment to making the association even better.
He said, “I stand before you today with profound gratitude and a deep sense of honour as I accept the privilege of serving once again as your President.
“The trust and confidence you have placed in me through your votes have humbled me and I am truly honoured to continue leading this distinguished association.
“Over the past 24 months, we have achieved some significant milestones together, fostering collaboration, innovation and excellence within the realm of corporate and marketing communications in the banking sector.
“Together, we have weathered challenges and embraced opportunities, further solidifying ACAMB’s position and relevance as a beacon of best practices in the banking industry.
“As we embark on this new term, my commitment to each and every member remains unwavering.’’
According to him, working with the new Exco, we’ll continue to strive for excellence, explore new avenues for growth and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
“ACAMB will be a platform where ideas flourish, relationships strengthen and the collective wisdom of our diverse membership (from our elders, past presidents, members and associates), propel us forward,’’ Bolarinwa said.
