A 73-year old woman, Mrs Cecilia Attah, was on Wednesday killed by her son, Athanasius Igwenagum Attah, at Nru community, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

It was reported that the deceased had a slight argument with her son, Athanasius, who used a plank to hit her on the head which led to her sudden death.

It was also gathered that shortly after killing his mother, the suspect ran to the nearby Nsukka Police Station to report that his brother wanted to kill him.

Athanasius, 54, who is the eldest son of the deceased, is a panel beater at the Mechanic Village, Nsukka. He was seen at Nsukka Police Station making a statement over the issue.

The deceased is said to be the mother of a priest, Rev Fr. Nobert, who is presently on sabbatical in the United States (U.S.).
