The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, has described the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as ” a leader with genius mind, achievements in breeding and positioning leaders”.
In a congratulatory message through his Director of Media and Publicity, ‘Bode Durojaiye, to commemorate Asiwaju’s 69th birthday, Alaafin said ” Bola Tinubu’s feats are bold and exceptional; from business to governance and politics, and . a true hero of democracy, and a light that cannot be concealed!” .
According to him, “Asiwaju Tinubu has become a political pillar and leader, not only in Yoruba land but in Nigeria, as his pragmatism in politics are his very good sense of judgment in identifying and nurturing exceptional leaders.
” Tinubu’s leadership role is a guide to the young and old.”, Alaafin stressed.
Oba Adeyemi went further, ” Asiwaju Tinubu suffers from excesses and shortcomings, perhaps like all mortals. But this does not diminish his greatness. His excesses are mitigated by several strong and positive qualities.
” He is generous to a fault. He has lifted many souls, old and young, from penury and perdition. He is a classic example of the Good Samaritan. We all have our shortcomings and why should Tinubu be an exception.
“Too many unprintable rumours, myths and comments have been circulated in writing and also spoken about him, some bordering on character assassination and unverifiable vilification, but God chooses and anoints those he wants. And no one can challenge God. It is obvious that Tinubu has been richly blessed, despite his apparent foibles. Such is life”..
The Paramount Ruler pointed out that Asiwaju Tinubu has an uncommon audacity as he has fought many battles that he won, spectacularly.
Said he, “he ( Tinubu) is naturally smart and adequately fearless. Tinubu would still take the risk even if you say a particular venture will kill him. He has such kamikaze instincts. You can’t go far in life, if you’re too squeamish and Tinubu is a living proof that courage conquers all”.
