Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has congratulated his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, on the occasion of his 61st birthday, extolling him for decades of meritorious service to the state and Nigeria.

Sanwo-Olu, in a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, described Hamzat as a trusted, dedicated and passionate public officer committed to the growth and development of the state.

He said the cordial working relationship between him and Hamzat, whom he referred to as “a brother, friend and dependable partner”, had translated into good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy to millions of Lagos residents.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Lagos state, as well as the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I celebrate my dear brother, friend and reliable partner on his 61st birthday.

“Dr Hamzat is worth celebrating. His immeasurable contributions to Lagos state and Nigeria stand him out as a lover of our dear state and the country.

“His commitment to public service and the development of Lagos state continues to inspire many. I am proud to walk this leadership and governance journey with him,” he added.

The governor described his deputy as “an administrator par excellence, a seasoned technocrat and politician hardworking, supportive, trustworthy and a committed partner.

“As Dr Obafemi Hamzat celebrates his 61st birthday, I wish him many more years of service, wisdom and success. May he continue to flourish in all his endeavours.

” I pray that God will increase him in good health to enable him to render more service to humanity, Lagos State and Nigeria,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
