When Love-Patra Ekufu President of the Black African History Global Iconic Award (BAGHIA) berthed the unique initiative aimed at recognizing past
and present African
heroes, sought to empower future
leaders whilst promoting global
advocacy for peace, justice and socio-economic growth, the after effect is to invoke a consciousness which celebrates Africa’s impact on the world especially as it evolves a new multipolar status.

BAHGIA is a celebration of
upliftment and empowerment of Black achievements at home and in the Diaspora. This is particularly important at a time when the throes of imperialism cast a renewed umbra on Africa’s quest to assert herself across all levels of our collective civilisational advancement as a new dualism in the global order takes center stage.

The BAHGIA award recipients embody the spirit of
boundless achievement,
where Black African excellence knows no boundaries such that new pathways are
paved for future progress. BAHGIA is a platform to celebrate
transformational leadership in the Arts, Science, Politics, Economics and other sectors of critical endeavor.

BAHGIA as an iconic stage is poised to reward black history’s most outstanding personalities, foster
unity in the black community and touch on the legacy of those who have shaped
African leadership in diverse facets, been visionaries for change and walked the non bandwagon path of remarkability. The work of these icons speaks to empowering and inspiring the future generations, ingraining in their consciousness that perseverance, resilience and excellence are beacons and codes by which they must pursue their life’s works and the entire experience of living for a cause. The stories of icons like Eric Matthew Masaba, the Uganda-British scientist, aviator, aeronautic engineer and polymath who holds the patent for “geolocation of social networks”, a patent whose commerical value has capitalised the globally renown Bigtech companies in silicon valley, California to the tune of about $2.5Trillion will be some of those on showcase, others icons likely to feature on the award list are HRM Engr. Eberechukwu Oji – the Eze Aro of Arochukwu Kingdom in Abaia State. He is President of the Africa Energy Fund (AEF) located in the British Virgin Islands and Chairman of Nestar Energies. HRM Engr. Oji is famed for closing the onshore acquisition of SHELL’s assets in a $2.4B transaction. The impact of microsonic waves and energy on all spectrums of technology development is a subject matter of note in the 21st century and this will certainly lead to BAHGIA recognizing Maxwell Chikumbutso to Zimbabwe technologist to make his presence felt. The list of unique personality will also include Dr. Tyrone Moodley of Ndeipi Foundation whose tokenization crusade this shaping a new economic outlook for Africa, other political behemoths are the likes of Governor Alex Otti amongst other notable change makers.

The Black African History Global Iconic Award (BAGHIA) will be hosted in 2026 in Nigeria and will be a gathering of the who is who in shaping black heritage now and in the future. BAHGIA will give awards in 14 categories to exceptional personalities who are spearheading remarkable outcomes and changing paradigms for the black race’s civilizational advancement.
