Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Friday in Abuja said that the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) recorded highest in domestic passengers traffic in the first half of 2021.
Passengers Traffic Statistics Report from January to June revealed that Abuja airport recorded highest in domestic arrivals and departures.
According to the report, NAIA recorded 1.9 74,249 out of total record 5, 513,098 as domestic arrivals and 1, 11705 out of total record 3, 278,005 as domestic departures in the country.
The report ranked the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos, as second in terms of passengers domestic arrivals and domestic departures.
According to it, MMIA recorded 1, 786, 236 out of total record 5, 513, 098 as domestic arrival and 1,073, 223 out of total recorded 3, 278, 005 as domestic departure.
The statics record, however, showed that MMIA recorded highest in international arrivals and international departures.
MMIA recorded 670, 938 out of total 907,722 as passengers international arrivals and 671, 450 out of 989,404 total international departures.
It ranked NAIA as second in terms of passengers` international arrivals and international departures.
According to the report, NAIA recorded 225,985 as passengers international arrivals out of total 907,722 and 247,422 as passengers international departure out of 989,404.
FAAN obtained data from MMIA, NAIA, Ilorin International Airport, Kaduna International Airport, Sadiq Abubakar111 International Airport, Sokoto, Benin Airport, Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar.
Others are Ibadan Airport, Yakubu Gowon Airport Jos, Maiduguri International Airport, Akwa Ibom Airport, Yola Airport, Akure Airport and Makurdi Airport, Katsina Airport.
Also Minna Airport, Osubi Airport, Warri, Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Port Harcourt International Airport and Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri.
