davidThe Senate President, Senator David Mark, has called on members of the Nigerian upper house to embark on a prayer session for the Super Eagles as they prepare to face Ethiopia in the FIFA World Cup qualifying play-off on October 13 in Addis Ababa.
At a plenary session on Tuesday, the Senate President stated that beyond hard work, the Super Eagles need divine assistance to overcome their opponents, and thus called on the ‘prayer warriors’ in the Senate to embark on a Novena on behalf of the team, to ensure that they qualify for the World Cup.
“I urge my colleagues to commence Novena prayers because we must participate in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil come next year,” he said.
Mark further urged the Super Eagles to work hard and stay united, even as he assured the team that they have the backing of not just the Senate but the entire National Assembly.
