1st mpox vaccines donated from EU to arrive in Congo

The commission and EU member states have pledged in total around 566,500 doses in an effort to halt the spread of the virus, a press release said.
“We know from the COVID-19 pandemic that we can only fight health threats such as mpox by working in partnership and global solidarity across borders,” said EU Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides.
Brussels plans to support affected countries in the fight against the disease with around 10 million euros (11 million U.S. dollars) in the coming months and has deployed two epidemiologists to the region.
