Ten days to presidential and legislative elections, gunmen, on Saturday, attacked the residence of Kenyan Deputy President, William Ruto.
Gunshots were heard by neighbours and security agents were quickly alerted.
Ruto and family members were not at home during the attack.
The residence is in the western town of Eldoret and Ruto is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s running mate.
Kenyatta is seeking a second and final term in office.
The election will hold on August 8.
The area was immediately cordoned off by security agents.
