The Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has dismissed as false a viral YouTube video alleging that its Spiritual Director, Evangelist Ebuka Obi, was attacked by gunmen during the commissioning of a free hospital in Aguleri, Anambra State.

In a statement issued in Lagos by Obi’s media adviser, Mr. Dan Aibangbe, the ministry described the report as a “wicked fabrication” aimed at misleading the public and sowing fear among worshippers ahead of its upcoming annual prayer crusade.

According to Aibangbe, the commissioning event was held successfully and without incident, attracting government officials, dignitaries, and a large crowd of supporters. He explained that Obi and his entourage left the venue around 4 p.m. and travelled safely to Owerri, Imo State—contrary to the fake report that an attack occurred in Anambra at 8 p.m.

“Although the AI-generated video purported to show concern for the safety of the Man of God and requested prayers, its contents were nothing short of wild imaginations intended to discourage people from attending our crusade,” the statement read.

Aibangbe further noted that the video undermines the efforts of security agencies and the Anambra State Government, led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, in ensuring a secure environment for public gatherings.

He suggested that the misleading video could be a ploy by its creators to drive traffic to their platforms or the handiwork of mischief-makers seeking to cause panic among the faithful, including those travelling from abroad for the crusade.

The ministry assured worshippers that security arrangements at the upcoming event in Ngor Okpala, Imo State, would be robust, covering crowd control and personal protection.

“The enemies of the Church who spread falsehoods are already defeated and will be put to shame by the power of God,” Aibangbe declared.

He urged the public to disregard the viral video, verify information only from credible sources, and refrain from sharing unverified content. He also disclosed that YouTube had flagged the video for possible sanctions.
