The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command has deployed 2,350 personnel across the state to provide watertight security, during the Yuletide season.
A statement by ASC Kehinde Adeleke, the spokesperson of NSCDC in Osun, made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Osogbo, said that the personnel were to provide covert/overt intelligence and 24 hours surveillance to nip any crime in the bud.
She said the NSCDC State Commandant, Sunday Agboola, has equally assured members of the public of a massive security arrangement in the state.
Adeleke said that personnel would be deployed to worship centers, market places, recreation centers, critical infrastructure and some other flash points in the state.
“The commandant therefore warned miscreants who are planning to cause breakdown of law and order to have a change of mind, as they would be made to face the full wrath of the law.” she said
The NSCDC, Adeleke quoted Agboola as saying, would partner with other sister agencies to provide adequate security in Osun State.
“He also charged personnel who have been deployed for the assignment to be civil, but firm in the discharge of their duties,” she said
The commandant enjoined those who will be travelling during the festive period to avoid night travels, over-speeding, over loading and stopping on lonely roads.
Adeleke appealed to residents in the state to report any suspicious person to the nearest security agency and its offices in case of any emergency.
