One of the contestants for the just concluded debate organised and sponsored a senior member of the Bar, Chief J. K Gadzama,, SAN, Mr. Izuchukwu Temilade Nwagbara, has won the N1 million prize at the hotly contested Gadzama Business Law Debate.
At the finals of the debate held in Abuja, FCT, Nwagbara emerged the best After panel of judges consisting senior members of the Bar found him victorious.
Moment the debaters concluded their presentations at a fierce competition, the Judges retreated for about 30 minutes to decide the winner.
Announcing the winners, the Presiding Judge, Mr. Kehinde Ogunwumiju, SAN, disclosed that Mr. Usman Ibrahim Wali was the 2nd Runner-Up after beating Mr. Adeyemi Kehinde Ayeku to the third position.
On the grand finale, the presiding Judge of the panel, Ogunwumiju said both contestants- Mr. Izuchukwu Temilade Nwagbara and Mr. Ayodeji Ayodele Ayolola, performed creditably well. At the end, Nwagbara was declared the winner while Ayolola was the runner-up.
While Nwagbara took home N1,000,000, Ayolola won N500,000 and Wali received N250,000.
Chief Gadzama, SAN, who was the brain behind the competition stated in his remarks that the contest was put in placed to ginger the excellence in the young lawyers.
While appreciating the efforts of all the participants, he thanked them for showing wit and skill at all stages of the debate.
He also stated that he was proud of the participants and that the fourth placed contestant would also be specially recognised.
Thousands of lawyers joined the contest until they were streamlined to three for the finals.
