Yobo joins Kano Pillars

Former captain of Super Eagles, Joseph Yobo, has joined Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Kano Pillars, for the rest of the season.
He will play for Kano Pillars in their remaining seven games of the season, under a special scheme arranged by the League Management Company to lure former internationals to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Pillars beat off competition from league leaders Wikki Tourist, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Warri Wolves and Akwa United to sign the 35 year old who last played in England for Norwich City.

Yobo had a distinguished career in Europe, particularly in England where he spent seven seasons with Everton before joining Fenerbache in Turkey at the twilight of his career.

However, he started his Euroepan sojourn with a stint in Belgium with Standard Liege and a not too pleasant time at French side Marseille.
