It was pomp and pageantry last Friday at the ancient Palace of Oyo, as residents of Kajola Olorioso community in the Oyo West local government area of Oyo State thronged the Aganju Forecourt in their hundreds to witness the installation of their new Head (Baale).
He is Chief Yinusa Oladele Orukotan.
Songs of praise to Almighty God, as well as eulogies were rendered to His Imperial Majesty, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamido Olayiwola Adeyemi, for his visionary leadership qualities and social justice in the choice of a rightful.and reliable candidate , among other contestants, for the vacant stool of their community head.
It was funfair galore as the elated residents rolled out the drums and besieged major streets in their community to celebrate with their new Baale, who they refered to as ” trustworthy, upright and a humanist”.
Performing the installation of Yinusa Oladele Orukotan as the new Baale Kajola Olorioso on behalf of the Alaafin, Ayaba Ramat Adedayo Adeyemi (Iyalekoto), a senior queen, who was supported by other Ayabas (queens), admonished the people of Kajola Olorioso community, especially all other contestants, to be submissive, support and co-operate with the new Baale.
This, Alaafin noted, would pave the way for peace and harmonious relationship needed for development.
The Royal Father also advised the new Baale to close ranks with all other contestants and embrace them, so that they can work as a team for the good of all and sundry.
