The Kwara Chapter Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Saheed Murtala, on Wednesday in Ilorin commended the level of compliance by their members with the ongoing workers strike.
Murtala, said all unions affiliated with the NLC in the state have complied with the directives from their national headquarters.
He however said while some offices still had their workers at work as at Wednesday morning, officials of Kwara NLC were able to successfully send them back home.
”We went round this morning to ensure that all the affiliated unions complied with the instructions given to them from their national headquarters.
”In some offices, we met them working. But we drove them out and ensured that the offices were locked up,” the Kwara NLC Chairman said.
He however urged workers who may be eager to go back to work to forget such and remain resolute as the union leadership was working for their interest.
”The workers that are eager to go back to work should understand that the interest of the NLC leadership is that of workers’ welfare.
”So, we should be resolute and wait for what will be the next line of action,” Murtala said.
