Asiata Lamidi , a housewife, on Tuesday told a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State that she was not the cause of her husband’s ( Muritala Lamidi) impotence.
Asiata told the court that she decided to call it quit with Lamidi because he was spreading the rumour around that she was responsible for the dysfunction of his manhood.
“My stay under the same roof with Lamidi as husband and wife will no longer be possible because he has slandered my name.
“He told all and sundry through a private-radio station in Ibadan that I am responsible for his inability to achieve erection again.
“My relatives told me that the presenter of that radio programme had invited me to come and tell listeners why I was so wicked to have caused his impotence.
“My lord, I have sworn by the Holy Quran that I know nothing about his sickness, but he will not stop tarnishing my image.
“In fact, I went to see that presenter last Thursday to explain my side of the story.
“The man was so disappointed with Lamidi that he did not tell the listeners the real story.
“I am completely frustrated and all I need now is the peace of mind and that is why I want to part ways with him,” Asiata said.
However, Lamidi was not in court for the second time to state his own side of the story.
He had approached the said private-radio station to help him plead with his wife,Asiata, so that he might regain his manhood.
The president of the court, Mr Ademola Odunade, however, adjourned the matter to May 12, for further hearing.
