Mr Tosin Fatoki, APC Chairman in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State has urged members to be committed to its upcoming membership registration.

Fatoki gave the advice on Friday at the APC local government area meeting held at the Abati Primary School, Akowonjo.

According to him, the membership registration is in response to the observed difference in the number of party members and number of votes recorded during the last general elections in the area.

The party chairman said that many of the members do not have the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and as a result, it had become mandatory for them to show their PVC before membership registration/ validation.

Chief Sunday Aboyade, the APC Vice Chairman, Lagos-west senatorial district in his remarks, appreciated the unity amongst caucuses in the party in Alimosho.

He said the unity remained a great step toward the return of Alimosho to the old winning days.

Aboyade, however, advised stakeholders in the area to set up a committee, if need be, to address matters that could make any party member to be aggrieved.

Mr Idowu Anjola, Assistant Welfare officer of APC in Lagos state also lauded the members for their unity.

According to him, the party is waiting for election guidelines from the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, which it would build on.

Anjola added that the membership registration was to ensure that party members are eligible to vote.

He said that only the PVC would determine those who could vote in the council poll.

“The Lagos APC is working very hard to redefine her rewarding system so that hardworking members won’t be left unrewarded,” he added.

According to him, the number of political office holders from Alimosho in the state is a representation of efforts of members in the last general elections.
