Chief Shuaibu Oyedokun arranged and supervised a shameful jamboree on Thursday in Ibadan which he claimed was a platform for reflection for the PDP stakeholders in the South-West.
This is quite disgusting. Chief Oyedokun is hardly the fit and proper person to coordinate any gathering in the South-West. He lacks the moral uprightness and the Omoluabi credibility of outstanding personalities like Chief Ebenezer Babatope, Chief Bode George, Dr Bode Olajumoke and several other men and women of unimpeachable moral firmness in Yorubaland.
We all know that Chief Oyedokun was unceremoniously booted out of the Board of Trustees by former President Goodluck Jonathan for his untidy entanglements in the gubernatorial primary of the Cross River State last year. If the usually mild-mannered Jonathan could be driven to such extreme action of sacking a BOT member, one can imagine what Oyedokun must have gotten himself involved in! The story is still fresh in Calabar!
Despite these soiled and sullied past, Oyedokun still remains unchanged, always maneuvering in unholy alliances with self-seeking characters who do not wish our party well.
When the governors of the South-West summoned a crucial stakeholders’ meeting in Akure early this year, Oyedokun chose to go to consult with Buruji Kashamu in Ijebu-Igbo. Is that the kind of person who should be summoning a South West meeting ?
Several other stakeholders meeting had since been held but Oyedokun was always a no-show. Perhaps, he prefers the company of his own kind.
Again, the latest jamboree which Oyedokun organised in Ibadan has no imprint or the support of any credible political actor in Yorubaland. It was a jamboree that was funded, cooked up and virtually motivated by Buruji.
We, at the South-West Professional Initiatives, totally reject any backdoor approach to distort the peace and the emergent new vision in Yorubaland. We know who our leaders are. We know the fake and fraudulent characters desperately seeking to launder their sullied image on the back of our people.
Even in the hierarchy of the party, Oyedokun cannot claim any forefront position. The position he held as the Deputy Chairman, South was held in acting capacity. The only person in the whole of South-West who held the highest position in the party is Chief Bode George who was Deputy National Chairman for the entire country. He is the only person who is representing the South-West in the National Caucus.
It appears Chief Oyedokun has a hidden agenda. At the age of 85 years on Mother Earth, what else is he looking for? This is quite disturbing. We advise the old man to withdraw into the retirement chair of integrity and moral sanctity and eschew all this game of acting another man’s script.
Enough is Enough!
