Watford confirms multiple offers for Ighalo

Walter Mazzarri has confirmed Watford are considering ‘a very important offer’ for striker, Odion Ighalo.
West Bromwich Albion have cooled their interest in signing Ighalo, but Mazzarri revealed Watford have received multiple bids for the striker from unnamed clubs.
Mazzarri’s forward options have been boosted with the arrival of Mauro Zarate on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Fiorentina, while M’Baye Niang has also joined on loan, and the Watford boss hinted the club could be persuaded to allow Ighalo to leave.
“I’ve just heard now that there is a very important offer that we are evaluating,” said Mazzarri.
“I don’t like to say all the details but there is more than one offer. This one might also be from China.”
Ighalo has scored just twice this season after a successful first campaign in the Premier League last term, finishing with 17 goals.
Mazzarri insisted Watford fought off top clubs to bring in their January reinforcements, and believes the pair can help bolster their attack for the remainder of the current campaign.
“I would like to say that I’m very happy that the club got two very important players, that is Niang and Zarate, because with all that has happened this season we have to think mainly about the next three-and-a-half months, which will be a most import period for the club,” Mazzarri added.
“First of all I want to say the club has given a very important message by signing these two players because I know for sure very big clubs in the UK and outside the UK wanted them and of course they’re two great players with very important qualities. They’re not the same as (injured midfielder Roberto) Pereyra, but for sure they will help in the right parts of the pitch and help my type of game.”
