Warriors beat Pillars 1-0 in Maiduguri

WAFU U-17: Nigeria defeat Burkina Faso, qualify for final

The El Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri on Sunday beat visiting Kano Pillars FC of Kano 1-0 in a Nigeria Professional Football League match played in Maiduguri.
In a keenly contested encounter watched by a capacity crowd at the El Kanemi Sports Center Maiduguri, both teams tried to outsmart one another without much success.
However Mathias Samuel 55th minute goal gave victory to the home team.
Warriors Coach Ladan Bosso described the victory as well deserved.
Bosso told a post match conference that the game was a tough one.
” It was a tough game but the most important thing is that we have won.
“Actually, we worked hard for the match but it turned out to be a difficult one, we thank God that we won eventually,” he said.
Handlers of the Pillars could not be reached for comment.
