We are not surprised at the culture of vulgarism usually exhibited by the APC in the name of politics as displayed by one Seye Oladejo, who claims to be the spokesperson of the ruling party in Lagos.
Beyond the rhetoric of politics, Seye Oladejo’s vituperations against an elderstatesman like Chief Olabode George over his position on the scorecards of PDP and APC in office only portrays him as a vagabond and not a true born and well bred person of yoruba descent.
If he is, he wouldn’t be so vulgar to address an elderstatesman of Chief Olabode George status, who served the nation in various capacities as a top military officer and a politician of note for over 50 years of his 80 years existence.
This attention seeking monstrous attack dog must be a product of failed parenthood and a broken home. We, however, advise him to retrace his steps back home to imbibe some mannerism and be well cultured. How can a hungry man be so embolden to utterly disparage an octogenarian of high moral standing? This certainly falls short of Yoruba culture of respect and civility, which is a standard practice since the existence of mankind.
We know he knows that he’s a designated attack for crumbs from his paymaster, who owns the APC.
Now back to the facts, the PDP is not antagonistic, it is just stating the facts regarding the records of performance between its tenure and that of the rule APC since 2015.
That former President Goodluck Jonathan’s record in office is better than those of Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an undisputable fact.
Over 20,000 Nigerian lawyers recently attested to it at their last national conference in a voice vote, when they were asked if they are better off in the current Nigerian state compared to two years ago, they answered with affirmative ‘No’.
Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu’s governments have spent $37 billion on the moribund refineries since 2015 to date and none of them is working, yet the APC elements say corruption has been eradicated.
They proclaim removal of fuel subsidy, while NNPC has failed to remit over $20 billion to the federation account under the APC, yet corruption has been eradicated.
The APC mouthpiece in Lagos also goofed that Chief Olabode George has never won election in Lagos, which we see as a ridiculous lie from the pit of hell.
Under George’s leadership of the PDP in Lagos in 2011 and 2015, the party produced several House of Representatives and House of Assembly members, the records are there. But on the flip side, the APC’s political clout of capacity is outrightly exaggerated. In fact, the confidence and arrogance of political dynasty is rooted in a corrupt and criminal electoral process.
For instance, President Bola Tinubu stay in Ikoyi, in Bourdillon, under Eti-Osa/Ikoyi. In 2023, he did not vote in Ikoyi, he registered in Ikeja.
Peter Obi, the former Presidential candidate of the Labour Party won Ikeja and Eti-Osa, that was home and away. He won the entire Lagos. Tinubu is the first person who won presidency by losing all the major states, he lost Kano, lost Abuja, lost his home state Lagos. And then Rivers, whatever happened with all the shenanigans that happened there with Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister.
If we take away criminality and thuggery, where people are not intimidated at polling booths as it played out in Lagos, allow popularity to be tested. If criminality and coercion are taken away, let us see who is truly popular.
All APC’s political gerrymandering through various manipulation of facts and propaganda are all indications that the ruling does not know how 2027 would play out. Guess what, 2027, is beyond political parties or party politics, the real opposition are the more than 200 million Nigerians, who are the victims of the reckless and irresponsible leadership of the APC-led government since 2015, the persons in abject hunger and multidimensional poverty, victims of insecurity, they’re the real opposition.
Right now, the only sector of the country that is doing well is crime and criminality, the APC government has only shown desperation for self gratification and financial aggrandisement. People playing God, when Nigerians are languishing in impoverishment, extreme and multidimensional poverty. Nigerians should rise above political figures as opposition and rescue the country.
When we put the country’s economic indices on a scale, we know where we have to rescue our country.
The simple economic theory postulates that a country’s currency value is determined by its imports/exports receipts. But the grim reality is that Nigeria’s real sector otherwise known as the manufacturing sector is in the woods, as 98% of manufacturing companies have all exited the country since the coming of the APC government due to cost of doing business.
While the APC government inherited exchange rate N199 to $1 by Muhammadu Buhari, Tinubu inherited it N460 to $1. But presently, $1 exchanges for N1,500, yet the narrative is the harmonisation of multiple exchange rates to one, the economy bleeds under a weak naira.
Another of their narrative is the removal of subsidy which they vehemently opposed when they were in opposition. But the country is indebted to the tune of close to N90 trillion on borrowing. Nigeria no doubt is in bad shape on all parameters and there is no basis for comparison between the PDP government of nation building and APC’s of national calamity and destruction!
