Residents of Ilorin, Kwara State and travellers have expressed fear over the state of Tanke Bridge in Ilorin, Kwara State.
To them, the structural errors, which some described as ‘distasteful’, may lead to collapse of the new bridge.
A source disclosed that a Chinese firm recently engaged by the state government to help correct the structural errors has advised the government to “bring down the entire structure and start the construction afresh”.
It is believed low qualities of materials used in the construction and lack of experience of local engineers engaged to handle the project make correction almost impossible.
