Undergraduate plots own kidnap, demands N10m from parents

For allegedly trying to dupe her parents of N10 million, nemesis has caught up with an undergraduate of the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Belynda Chinwe Bosa.
The state police command also arrested her boyfriend, George Itietie, and his friend, Sunday Ogagawotu.
Itietie is a student of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, Enugu State.
Freedom Online learnt that the 25-year-old Belynda, a student of Mass Communication, had conspired with Itietie and Ogagawotu to dupe her parents of N10 million under the pretence that she was kidnapped on her way to school.
The trio lodged in a popular hotel in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state while plotting the act.
The parents could only raise N500,000 which they collected before their arrest by the police.
The money was paid into Ogagawotu’s account in a new generation bank.
The suspects were paraded at the command’s headquarters in Asaba on Monday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Celestina Kalu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said the suspect would soon be arraigned in court.
