Russia has lost further high ranking military officers in the war in Ukraine, according to reports from the Ukrainian army.
Commanders of the parachute regiment from the Russian city of Kostroma and of the Cossack regiment from the city Stavropol have been “eliminated”, Kiev says, using phrasing generally meant to imply killed.
The commander of the Russian 346th Special Forces brigade has also been injured, according to the Ukrainian military.
These reports could not be independently verified.
Russia has not responded to the Ukrainian claims.
Reports suggest that, in the last three weeks of war, the Ukrainian army has killed dozens of high ranking Russian officers, including at least six generals of the army and national guard.
