Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, on Tuesday, inaugurated 68 Development Centres administrators (DC) to oversee the administration of the Development Centres made up of council wards in the South-East state.

The Solicitor General of the state, Victor Emeribe, administered the oath at the Enugu State Government House.

The new administrators numbering 68 were appointed from the 68 Development Centres of the state. They include 67 male and one female.

Speaking at the event, Ugwuanyi mandated the administrator to relocate to their Development Centres and help in fighting insecurity in the area.

“Enugu State Development Centres can no longer be Superintendent by absentees or non-resident Development Areas administrators.

“I, therefore, direct administrators to relocate to their Local Government Council and take charge of this fourth tier
administration immediately.

“Your appointment came on board at a usual time when the country face security challenges.

“Engage all traditional rulers and other stakeholders in your area to inspire grassroots security architecture with robust intelligence gathering”, he said.

Ugwuanyi explained that the administrators were appointed following the inspiration of the previous ones.

Speaking on behalf of other administrators, Ezeagu Development Centre administrator, Okwudili Onuoha thanked governor Ugwuanyi for choosing them to serve. He promised that the administrators will serve to the best of their knowledge and discharge his duties deligently.

“We the new administrators are going to discharge our duties with the best of ability and in line with the state best development and security strategies.

“I hereby, promised and urged my colleagues to relocate to the localities and deliver the dividend of democracy to the people as the governor mandated”, Onuoha said.
