Ugwuanyi receives FRSC Sector Commander

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has assured the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Enugu Sector Command, of his administration’s support to its operations in the state.
He gave the assurance on Tuesday when he received in audience the new sector commander , FRSC, Enugu state sector command, Joseph Toby, who paid him courtesy visit in Government House,Enugu.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Simon Ortuanya, governor Ugwuanyi welcomed the new sector commander and assured him of the state government’s corporation, saying, “I want to assure you that while you are in Enugu, you will be happy. We will continue to support you.”
He intimated the sector commander about the state government’s various assistance to the Corps in the past, assuring him that his requests would be looked into.
Earlier, the new sector commander, Joseph Toby, told the governor that he was on a courtesy visit to seek corporation , collaboration and to build synergy with Enugu state government.
He appealed for state government’s support in the areas of logistics, working tools , vehicles and renovation of their office complex in Enugu.
The Sector Commander said , “The Road Safety is a shared responsibility. It is necessary for us to achieve a zero crash in Enugu state”
Toby also appealed to the state government to carry the FRSC along in the scheme of things in the state .
Feilding questions from Newsmen, the sector Commander disclosed that the Corps, as one of the measures put in place to achieve zero road crash in the state, had embarked on Drivers’ education. He urged road users to always be patient, leave early enough if they’re travelling and get their vehicles properly checked some days before travelling to minimize road crash.
