Ugwuanyi inaugurates exco, appoints Ugwoke as CPS

Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi,  has  sworn in 19 Commissioners, Chief of Staff  and announced the appointment of  his Chief Press Secretary (CPS),  Chuks Ugwoke.
Ugwuoke, a  former Commissioner for Information during the Sullivan Chime administration, was sworn in to replace the late former Chief  Press Secretary,   Uwakwe Abugu who died last year.
The commissioners  sworn in include Hon Gregory Nnaji, Melitus Eze, Chijioke Edoga, Hon Chidi Aro, Prince Emeka Mama, Vitus Okechukwu, Solomon Izuchukwu, Mrs Peace Nnaji, Charles Egunme, Hon Mathias Ekweremadu, Uchenna Eze
Others are Peter Okonkwo, Obi Kal Karma, Ibe Reginald Ugochukwu, Anthony Ikemefuna Okechukwu Marbel Onah.
The commissioners during the oath of office promised to discharge their duties to the best of their knowledge.
They also pledged not to allow their own personal interest to influence the official conduct or decision and with the best of ability would preserve the constitution of federal Republic of Nigeria.
Also sworn in were the Chief of Staff, Mr Festus Uzor and seven Special Advisers which include Mrs. Olangwa N. Ezekwu; Mr. Uwakwe Ukuta Azikiwe; Mr. Uchenna Emmanuel Ogbodo; Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, Mrs. Maryrose Obiageli Abba; Stephen Oluchukwu Oruruo and Paschal Okechukwu Ukwuani.
In his address after swearing in the commissioners, Ugwuanyi charged them to be proactive in discharging their duties to effect good governance in the state.
He disclosed that the government would organise a retreat for the new commissioners which would start from 27th – 30th of September. This is expected to take them through the policies of the government to enable them carryout their duties, adding that their portfolio would be given to them after the retreat.
He commended the State House of Assembly for their robust effort to ensure that the best commissioners were selected.
He said: “I congratulate you all that made it. Whom more is given, more is expected. We will organise retreat which will start from 27th and end 30th to know the policies of government and work according to it”.
