Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has donated One brand Hiace bus each to two groups, Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Enugu and Nsukka Zonal Amalgamated Traders Association (NZATA).
Presenting the buses to the two groups in Enugu on behalf of Ugwuanyi, the Deputy Governor, Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, urged the organisations to use the bus in serving the citizens better.
Ezeilo said that his Excellency, in his magnanimity, was giving the bus for his love to all the citizens inspite of party and institution affiliation or organization.
“By deciding to make the presentation of a bus to the Council in the State, the government is demonstrating a sincere appreciation of the style of the leadership of the Council in the state. It is a modest way of saying thank you, while looking forward to a deepening of the relationship through the continuing adoption of an attitude of mutual respect, cooperation and understanding.
” His Excellency would have been here to do this presentation but he asked me to do that on his behalf and I am delighted to welcome you all.
Delivering a bus to IPAC members, Ezeilo said: ” On behalf of His Excellency, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, I present this brand new bus to you in line with His Excellency’s instruction.
” Enugu Government appreciates the peace and harmony you people have accorded the state especially before, during and after each election in the state.
” Governor Ugwuanyi, in his accommodative spirit, asked me to hand over a bus each to you in appreciation for your support to his government, ” she said.
In a vote of thanks, chairman of IPAC, Ken Ike, expressed gratitude to the state government for the gesture.
He noted that such is the kind they never had since the inception of democracy in the state.
” Your Excellency has been showing dividends of democracy to all an sundry since the beginning of his administration.
” Here, he has shown it again physically and I am assuring you that we will continue to abide by the aims of the council to achieve it’s purpose, ” Ike said.
Similarly, speaking after taking delivery of their own bus, the chairman of NZATA , Dr Dominic Ezema, thanked Ugwuanyi for the adequate attention he has been showing to the market traders in the state.
” His Excellency has shown much attention to the Nsukka Zonal Amalgamated Traders Association and that is why we do not regret supporting his administration.
” We will continue to align with his administration in any possible way we can because his infrastructure project is next to non.
” This government’s infrastructural project starting from road construction to other projects made us united and to follow your government till end, Ezema said “‘
The membership of the Nsukka Amalgamated traders association is made up of 52 markets in Enugu North senatorial zone.
Meanwhile, Ugwuanyi also presented two towing vehicles and five Motorcycles to Enugu State Ministry of Transport (MOT) to ensure efficiency in their job of regulating traffic rules in the state.
Mrs Ezeilo, while inaugurating and handing over the vehicles to MOT, urged them to be efficient in their services.
The vehicles included a Mack towing van, five VIO motorcycles and a pickup towing van.
She expressed satisfaction on MOT’s effort in maintaining traffic and orderliness in the state.
She told them that the government wanted them to ensure all traffic rules and order are strictly obeyed .
” On behalf of the governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, I, therefore, commissioned and hand over this working tools to you people, ” Ezeilo said.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Transport Mathias Ekweremadu, said that the ministry applied for the working tools months ago.
” We applied to the state government for this tools few months ago to enable the ministry of transport to excel in our duty.
” Here the purchased vehicles, motorcycles for commissioning and official handover by the state government.
” Today, we are here to celebrate the our achievement and others as one of the things that helps us to excel which a is a good road network.
” Ministry of Transport campaigned against driving while drunk, carrying kids in front of the car, over speeding, traffic violation and others, ” Ekweremadu said.
He said that the motorcycles will help his men to apprehend those who are taking laws into thier hands.
” This Mack toll van, can toll any type of big vehicle wrongly packed while the other vehicle will assist in towing smaller vehicles, ” hsaid.
The permanent secretary , Ministry of Transport, Mr Ogbonna Idike, thanked the state government for approving the purchase of the working tools.
He thanked Her Excellency for commissioning the working tools and promised judicious use of them.
