COVID-19: Groups donate hand washing facilities to  Enugu Govt

Ugwuanyi

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has approved the establishment of  a new Industrial area around the 9th Mile Corner, Ngwo, where it will relocate Enugu motor spare parts dealers who are currently doing business at the Industrial area, Coal Camp, Enugu.
This was one of the outcomes of the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House,  Enugu.
A statement by the Commissioner for Information,  Ogbuagu Anikwe, stated that the relocation of motor spare parts dealers is based on a request by their
association – the Enugu Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association (EMSPDA) – to be
taken to their present location as a result of what they described as “enormous
problems and challenges of space constraints, limited access by their clients, lack
of room for expansion, and dilapidated and ageing infrastructure.”
According to him,  “The dealers had specifically requested for a new location around the 9th Mile area
which will enhance their ability to expand their business and create room for
indigenous technology and innovation.”
The  commissioner said that,” the State executive council voted to create an Industrial zone around the 9th Mile
area, acquire land for the area, and relocate the Coal camp dealers to the new zone.”
According to him,  ” high-level cabinet committee was also set up to work out the modalities for the
realization of the Project.”
Anakwe  said the Committee members  include the Commissioners
for Commerce & Industry, Lands & Urban Development, Enugu Capital Territory
Development, Works & Infrastructure, as well as the Chairmen of Udi and Ezeagu Local Councils and representatives of EMSPDA.
