*Nigeria’s Daniel Amokachi also in history books

Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal is excited about his historic first ever goal in the UEFA Champions Legaue.
The teenage sensation who was part of the Spanish team that won Euro Cup last month says he is currently having the best time in his career.
Yamal added that he never expected any historic goal but only made effort to ensure his tea was back in the match against Monaco.
He is unstoppable right now, scoring his first Champions League goal.
The French side took the lead after Maghnes Akliouche capitalised on an early red card for Eric Garcia.
However, Yamal came through for Hansi Flick, slotting a precise shot into the bottom left corner of Monaco’s goal to score his first-ever Champions League goal.
This strike also made him the second-youngest player to score in the competition, just 28 days after teammate Ansu Fati’s record at 17-years-old.
“I was not thinking about record but was playing to help the team get the equalizer. I saw the opportunity and was on target. It was after the match I read about it all. I am happy but we did not win the match we have to work hard and move on,” he said.
Yamal has been on a remarkable run so far this season as he has scored four goals in five games.
It could be recalled that former Nigerian international is the first ever African player to score in the UEFA Champions League. He registered the goal for FC Brugge in 1992 in a match against CSKA Moscow. The match ended 1-0 and it was incidentally the first ever UEFA champions League goal of the club.
Again, Amokachi was barely 17 years old at the time and he emerged the youngest ever scorer in the competition but many other young players have erased the record including Barcelona’s Ansu Fati and also Yamal.
