UBA remains ‘investors’ toast’ as NSE moves 357.23 shares worth N4.15bn

Investors at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday staked N4.15 billion on 357.23 million shares transacted in 4,699 deals.
The volume of shares traded increased by 16.85 per cent compared with 305.71 million shares valued N2.98 billion traded in 4,674 deals on Monday.
The banking sub-sector remained the toast of investors with UBA emerging the most traded, exchanging 48.99 million shares worth N262.97 million.

Transcorp came second with 36.51 million shares valued N116.61 million, while Unity Bank sold 28.68 million shares worth N176.57 million.

Access Bank accounted for 28 million shares valued N176.57 million and Zenith Bank traded 27.01 million shares worth N617.90 million.
In spite of the growth, the market indicators dropped by 0.21 per cent due to loss posted by some blue chip equities.
The All-Share Index lost 74.53 points or 0.21 per cent to close at 34,706.93, against 34,781.46 recorded on Monday.
Also, the market capitalisation, which opened at N11.817 trillion, decreased by N26 billion to close at N11.791 trillion.
Total led the losers’ table, dropping by N6.99 to close at N150.51 per share.
Nigerian Breweries lost N2.99 to close by N154, while Wapco dipped N2.03 to close at N96.17 per share.
Dangote Cement depreciated by 49k to close at N178 and Caverton dipped 35k to close at N3.35 per share.
Conversely, Nestle topped the gainers’ chart, gaining N4.02 to close at N905.02 per share.
Betaglass garnered N3.38 to close at N36.38, while Guinness increased by N1.50 to close at N160 per share.
Okomu Oil inched 70k to close at N28.90 and CAP grew by 50k to close at N41.50 per share.
