UBA emerges ‘most active stock’ as NSE market indicators record marginal growth

Market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday appreciated by N6 billion due to marginal gains recorded by some blue chip equities.
The market capitalisation closed higher at N11.574 trillion, against N11.568 trillion posted on Monday, representing an increase of 0.05 per cent.
Also, the All-Share Index which opened at 34,044.65, rose by 17.24 points or 0.05 per cent to close at 34,061.89.
Mobil Oil recorded the highest price gain, appreciating by N3 to close at N150 per share.
Nigerian Breweries also garnered N3 to close at N150, while CAP increased by 85k to close at N41 per share.
ETI appreciated by 82k to close at N21.82, while Unilever grew by 40k to close at N45.50 per share.
On the other hand, Forte Oil led the losers’ chart, shedding N5 to close at N163 per share.
It was followed by Oando with 69k to close at N18.20, while Presco declined by 65k to close at N33.35 per share.
GTB lost 37k to close at N28.60 and Zenith Bank dropped 35k to close at N20.56 per share.
The volume of shares traded closed lower with 224.07 million shares worth N3.48 billion exchanged by investors in 3,940 deals.
This was against the 340.71 million shares valued N5.50 billion exchanged in 4,184 deals on Monday.
UBA emerged the most active stock, exchanging 29.98 million shares worth N160.67 million.
ETI came second with 21.76 million shares valued N470.77 million, while Zenith Bank traded 21.61 million shares worth N452.35 million.
GTBank sold 18.96 million shares valued N547.29 million, while investors staked N125.12 million on 13.71 million shares of FBN Holdings.
