UBA drives activity with 15.76m shares as capital market indices up by 0.28%

Market indicators of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday appreciated marginally by 0.28 per cent after dropping for three consecutive days.
The All-Index appreciated by 94.01 points or 0.28 per cent to close at 33,556.35 against the 33,462.34 posted on Wednesday due to marginal gains by some blue chip companies.
Also, the market capitalisation, which opened at N11.422 trillion, rose by N32 billion or 0.28 per cent to close at N11.454 trillion.
A breakdown ot the price movement chart indicated that PZ industries led the gainers’ table with a gain of N2.81 to close at N35 per share.
It was trailed by Nigerian Breweries with N2.26 to close at N150.16, while Nestle gained N1.51 to close at N857.51 per share.
Okomu Oil appreciated by N1.45 to close at N32.10; Zenith Bank gained 68k to close at N19.88 per share.
On the other hand, Mobil Oil recorded the highest loss, dropping by N2 to close at N148 per share.
7UP followed with a loss of N1.40 to close at N178.10, while Guinness dipped N1.15 to close at N158.85 per share.
Seplat declined by N1 to close at N338 and Dangote Cement dipped 98k to close at N177 per share.
Unilever drove activity with an exchange of 32.78 million shares worth N1.49 billion.
UBA followed with a total of 15.76 million shares valued N81.85 million, while FBN Holdings exchanged 13.02 million shares worth N116.07 million.
Access Bank accounted for 11.81 million shares valued N72.01 million, while investors staked N152.97 million on 7.84 million shares of Zenith Bank.
In all, the volume of shares traded closed lower with a total of 154.09 million shares worth N4.04 billion transacted in 3,515 deals.
This was in contrast with 590.79 million shares valued N4.13 billion traded in 3,863 deals on Wednesday.
