Two suspected ritualists were arrested in Oyo State on Friday with a fresh human head.

Some youths in Olufana Village, Igbo-Oloyin Road, Akinyele Local Government Area of the state wanted to lynch them before they were rescued and taken away by policemen.

Some of the villagers saw the ritualists cutting the head of a woman along Igbo Oloyin and alerted policemen.

The villagers did not allow them to leave but before the policemen arrived, some youths stormed the place and in anger, wanted to lynch the duo.

One of the suspects, Seyi Akinrinola (30), claimed to be a farmer and that he was advised by the other suspect to get a human head for anti-bullet medicine.

He confessed that the head was that of a mad woman.

Akinrinlola insisted that the woman was known to villagers and that he only cut the head and hid it on a tree near his house.

The other suspect, Ajitoni Ogundeji (40), however denied his involvement in the evil act, saying, “I do not know anything about it”

The state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Olabisi Ilobanefor (DSP), while speaking on the incident, said members of the community informed the police of the incident and policemen promptly moved into the area.

She said the suspects would soon be arraigned.
