Two policemen, four civilians die in Bauchi auto crash

The Bauchi State Police Command, on Thursday, confirmed the death of two policemen and four civilians in an auto crash on Darazo-Bauchi road.
DSP Mohammed Haruna, spokesman of the command in a statement on Thursday in Bauchi, indicated that the accident, which involved a Vectra vehicle with registration number GJW 446 XA, occurred on April 13.
Haruna said that the vehicle, conveying two suspected kidnappers from Soro Police Division, had an accident at Dabe village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.
He said eight other occupants of the vehicle with various degree of injuries were conveyed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi for treatment.
According to the police spokesman, those who died included the two policemen, two local vigilante members, one complainant and one of the suspected kidnappers.
He gave the names of the deceased as Inspector Nuhu Usman, Sergeant Nasiru Saleh, Alan Shehu, Haruna Yawali, Isa Yusufu, and the suspected kidnapper, Isa Gambo.
Haruna said all the corpses had been deposited at the ATBUTH mortuary, as investigation continues to unravel the cause of the accident.
