Trump: I'm not worried about impeachment threat

Donald Trump

United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump was sharply critical of California, after the governor of the country’s most populous state planned to issue an executive moratorium suspending the death penalty.
The state has 737 people on death row.
California voters have repeatedly rejected abolishing capital punishment but there is a court imposed moratorium on the death penalty.
“Defying voters, the Governor of California will halt all death penalty executions of 737 stone cold killers.
“Friends and families of the always forgotten VICTIMS are not thrilled, and neither am I!” Trump tweeted on Wednesday.
The president has long been irked by the Democratic leadership in California, including the newly elected governor Gavin Newsom.
The governor is meant to sign the new order later on Wednesday.
Trump has long been an advocate of the death penalty, even before he entered politics.
Across the country, 18 states and Washington D.C. have abolished the death penalty and others have issued suspensions.
