Troops on fighting patrol along the Monguno-Brimari road in Borno State, on Thursday, killed two suspected terrorists.
Col. Sani Usman, the army spokesman said in a statement in Abuja that the troops of 8 Task Force Division, Nigerian Army, killed the duo after some terrorists suspected to be on a mission to loot logistics supplies in surrounding villages, were intercepted.
“On sighting the patrol, the insurgents engaged the troops in a shootout that lasted for about 15 minutes before they were overpowered by the superior fire power of the patrol.

“In the encounter, two insurgents were neutralized.

“The troops recovered weapons including one Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifle loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, one AK-47 rifle and three magazines from the terrorists.

“Also recovered from the insurgents were two motorcycles, various drugs, wrappers and clothes,” Usman said.
