Trinity University VC tasks African leaders to invest in scientific research

The Vice-Chancellor of Trinity University,Yaba, Lagos State, Professor Charles Ayo Korede, has tasked African leaders to invest more in scientific research in a bid to accelerate development across Africa.

Speaking in the capacity of Keynote speaker at the maiden Augustine University Research Fair in Epe on Tuesday, Prof Korede regretted that at the moment, enough funds are not being injected into scientific research in a bid to find solutions to the myriad of problems facing various African countries.

The Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, Ilara – Epe, Lagos State, Professor Christopher Odetunde, in his opening remarks, congratulated AUI Centre for Human Development for organising the fair.

Odetunde assured that everything possible would be done in making AUI to become a research oriented University.

The VC further said his hope was that the school would generate concrete solutions to the various problems facing the society.

His words: “Nigeria’s problems are not just as a result of corruption but inability to find concrete solutions to the various problems facing the nation”.

Scholars from various universities in Nigeria are presenting papers at the fair scheduled from Tuesday to Thursday.
