Total: We didn’t shun Senate sitting on pipeline project

Our attention relates to the story by one of your reporters, Ibrahim Ahmadu, titled: ‘$1bn pipeline contract probe: Senate laments absence of stakeholders’.
The story contains two inaccuracies about Total which we want corrected.
Firstly, the OUR pipeline project belongs to Total E&P Nigeria Ltd, not Total Nigeria Plc as erroneously reported. Total Nigeria Plc is a downstream company of Total group. It has no business with the OUR project.
Secondly, the story claimed Total did not attend the session. This is inaccurate.
Total attended the meeting and was represented by Mr Abiodun Afolabi, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs and Services, Total E&P Nigeria Ltd.
We will be grateful if the correction is reflected in the story.
