The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has hailed the appointment of Tony Nwoye as Senate Minority Whip, describing it as a sign of both his personal merit and the party’s expanding political relevance.

In a statement released in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the development reflects the ADC’s growing role in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.

He noted that Nwoye’s emergence demonstrates increasing confidence in the party as a credible opposition platform capable of contributing to national governance.

According to Abdullahi, the appointment is timely, especially as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 general elections and seeks stronger democratic institutions.

He described Nwoye as a consistent and courageous political figure whose track record aligns with the values of accountability and good governance.

The ADC spokesman added that the new role places the party in a stronger position to influence legislative processes within the National Assembly of Nigeria.

He emphasized that the development signals the party’s readiness not only to compete in future elections but also to provide leadership rooted in competence and integrity.

Abdullahi expressed confidence that Nwoye would bring balance, diligence, and effective representation to his responsibilities as Minority Whip.

He also stated that the ADC remains committed to offering Nigerians a viable alternative focused on transparency, service delivery, and democratic advancement.
